Featured Art
The art pictured on the sidebar is produced by Favianna Rodriguez, a celebrated printmaker and digital artist based in Oakland, California. Rodriguez is renown for poster art that deals with issues such as war, immigration, globalization, and social movements. Her pieces reflect national and international grassroots struggles and tell a history of social justice through graphics. To incorporate art into movement for social change, she creates posters to translate the messages of the frontlines that can be used to educate and mobilize. She invites activists serving social justice, radical, and revolutionary causes to use her images for non-commercial purposes. Rodriguez has lectured widely on the use of art in civic engagement and produces a blog focused on social activism. Contact her, follow her blog, schedule her for a talk, or purchase her work at http://www.favianna.com. Rodriguez designed the cover of both of the books I published meant to translate knowledge learned from activists around the world.
